The Video is about the Solomoneri a school for Wizards in Romanian lore where students learn magic from Satan himself. The 10th Student never leaves. In the book Dracula this was a throwaway line as Van Helsing was giving an info dump on Dracula’s history. This is a good example of why Stoker is the crossroads of the vampires of folklore and modern fiction. While a lot of the lore has been forgotten and replaced with modern concepts, what we have left can be traced to Stoker. As I am interested in Medieval history I am interested in the old lore separating it from modern fiction and developing my own take. A couple of books which aided me on that quest were the Vampire Encyclopedia by Mathew Bunson and The Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the Undead
